SNAP

poetry chapbook and exhibition catalog for PhotoCentric / deep dive art projects

For this project poets were paired with vernacular photographs from the collection of Michael Loderstedt.

From the introduction by Bellamy Printz, Deep Dive Art Projects:
For Loderstedt, vernacular photographs speak broadly and viscerally to the human condition, in much the same ways that folk art does. The destiny for this set of unique images has always been to show them, share them, inspect, and ruminate over them. To this end, we present SNAP, an exhibition of found photographs along with ekphrastic poetry by some of the region’s best writers. From a curated group of over 35 images, the poets each responded to one or more, resulting in poignant and humorous observations and distinct memories evoked from these squares
of black and white.

Participating artists include: Lindsay Barba, Taylor C. DeClerico, Sujata Lakhe, Cora McCann Liderbach, Michael Loderstedt, Brittany McCauley, Ray McNiece, Bill Newby, Tim Peeler, Bellamy Printz, Shei Sanchez, Jackie Zielke.
